Soya Lecithin Powder

Enerex GREENS Original contains a special oil free powdered lecithin from non-GMO soybeans containing 97% phosphatides. Each serving contains 615 mg of phosphatidyl choline, a powerful fat emulsifying compound that is present in every cell in the body. Phosphatidyl choline solubilizes fats and cholesterol in the blood stream, solubilizes dietary fats in the intestinal mucosa and maintains structural integrity of cell membranes. Phosphatidyl choline is a source of choline, a B-complex factor with powerful lipotropic activity that plays a vital role in brain neurotransmission. Hawaiian Spirulina Pacifica Blue Green Algae

Hawaiian spirulina is the most famous of the blue-green algae for good reason. It is one of the most nutritious foods known, containing up to 65% highly digestible protein. It is one of the highest food sources of vitamin B12, contains up to 10 times more beta carotene per gram than carrots, and along with Kamut, alfalfa and barley juice, is one of the richest sources of chlorophyll. Spirulina is one of the few natural foods to contain the omega-6 fatty acid, gamma-linolenic acid (GLA), the precursor to the series 1 prostaglandins. Spirulina is also the only food to contain phycocyanin, the natural blue pigment. Spirulina is a rich source of B complex vitamins, minerals, enzymes, RNA and DNA.

High Pectin Apple Fibre

Apple fibre is a rich source of pectin, a gel forming polysaccharide with strong antibacterial and fungicidal properties which has been shown to lower cholesterol levels in humans. Pectin controls the motility and absorption of nutrients from the gut by forming a gel around the food particles, increasing the viscosity of the stomach contents and creating a sensation of being full. Pectin interferes with the action of digestive enzymes and thus slows the rate at which sugar and fat enters the blood stream, eventually increasing the amount of faecal bulk passing through the large intestine.

Organic Kamut Grass Juice Powder

Kamut is an heirloom, non-hybrid ancient grain from the Nile region of Egypt, which has never been crossbred. Kamut contains 29% more protein, 27% more lipids and measures higher in 8 of the 9 minerals found in common wheat, including magnesium (23% higher) and zinc (25% higher). Kamut contains more riboflavin, thiamine and niacin than common wheat, and it is significantly higher in vitamin E and chlorophyll. Of the 18 amino acids usually found in wheat, 16 are higher in Kamut including threonine, cystine, arginine, aspartic acid and serine (from 34% to 65% higher). Compared to wheatgrass juice powder, Green Kamut Grass Juice powder is 25% richer in protein, 10% higher in beta carotene, 90% higher in potassium, 148% higher in calcium, 50% higher in iron and possesses 49% higher antioxidant activity. Organic Alfalfa Leaf Juice Powder

Alfalfa, “the Father of All Foods”, is one of the most nutritious of foods known. The root system of the alfalfa plant reaches out over 100 feet into the earth allowing the plant to absorb high levels of minerals, especially calcium. Alfalfa juice powder is rich in chlorophyll, beta carotene, vitamins A, D, E, B6 and K, and in several enzymes which improve digestion and assimilation of nutrients. Organic Barley Grass Juice Powder

Scientific research has shown that the juice from young barley leaves is rich in vitamins (especially beta carotene, B complex vitamins and vitamin C), minerals (including potassium, calcium, iron, phosphorus and magnesium), chlorophyll and mucopolysaccharides, which play a major role in the structural integrity of body tissue. Red Beet Juice Powder

Beet juice is highly alkaline and is therefore effective in reducing an over acidic stomach. Red beet juice powder is a good source of organic iron which helps to build red blood cells. Brown Rice Bran

Brown rice germ and bran are excellent sources of gamma-oryzanol (esters of ferulic acid), a potent antioxidant within plant cells. Gamma-oryzanol has been found effective in lowering blood cholesterol and triglyceride levels. Brown rice germ and bran are also excellent sources of both soluble and insoluble dietary fibres. Dietary fibres help to bind bile acids, lower blood cholesterol, increase satiety after eating, increase fecal weight and volume, decrease transit time of food through the colon, and decrease insulin response after a carbohydrate meal. The Friendly Trio Dairy Free Probiotic Culture

Royal Jelly (6% HDA)

Each 10 gram serving of Enerex GREENS Original contains 200 mg of premium grade royal jelly concentrate which is equivalent to 600 mg of fresh royal jelly, standardized to contain 6% (12 mg) 10-Hydroxy-2-Decenoic Acid, or 10 HDA, a long chain carboxylic acid of the steroid group. 10 HDA is thought to be the main ingredient responsible for royal jelly’s activity. Most other royal jelly concentrates contain only 4 or 5% 10 HDA. Royal jelly is the special highly concentrated food produced by worker honey bees to create and sustain the queen bee, making her 50% larger than the other female worker bees and giving her incredible stamina, ovulation ability and longevity, living 4-5 years longer than worker bees who only live 40 days. Royal jelly is a rich source of complete protein, containing all the essential amino acids, as well as essential fatty acids, minerals and vitamins, particularly pantothenic acid (B-5), and pyridoxine (B-6). Known for its energy enhancing and revitalizing properties, royal jelly is also a natural antibiotic. Research shows that royal jelly stimulates the suprarenal glands and produces a positive reaction on the body’s metabolism. Bee Pollen

Every macro and micro-nutrient known to be required by humans has been found in bee pollen. On the average, pollen contains 60% carbohydrates, 20% protein, 7% fat, 7% moisture and 6% minerals. Pollen is rich in B complex vitamins, especially vitamin B12 and pantothenic acid. Pollen is also rich in rutin, a glycoside that increases the resistance of the capillary walls to infectious poisons. Pollen also contains many enzymes and coenzymes, antioxidants, bioflavonoids and carotenoids including alpha and beta-carotene. Research has shown bee pollen to be beneficial in hayfever, respiratory and allergic reactions. Many athletes use pollen to increase endurance.

Acerola Berry Extract

Acerola, also known as West Indian Cherry, is one of the richest natural sources of vitamin C, with its powerful freeradical scavenging abilities, as well as carotene, thiamine, riboflavin, niacin, proteins and mineral salts, principally iron, calcium and phosphorus. Acerola has been used as a remedy against flu and colds.

Licorice Root Powder

Licorice root is one of the most biologically active herbs known. It has found extensive therapeutic use throughout the world and has been the subject of an enormous amount of research, particularly for its oestrogenic properties. Licorice root can help reduce cholesterol. Licorice root powder is not to be confused with standardized licorce extract. Licorice root powder in the amounts found in GREENS Original is safe during pregnancy and not contraindicated in cases of hypertension.

Pacific Kelp

Pacific Kelp is a variety of edible seaweed of the family Laminariaceae. It is an excellent source of iodine, potassium, B-complex vitamins, vitamin D, vitamin E, vitamin K, calcium, magnesium, potassium, iron, copper, chromium, silicon, vanadium, zinc and many other trace minerals. These minerals not only maintain the health of the thyroid gland, but contribute to the health and resistance of the body as a whole.

Features of GREENS Original

The most nutrient dense of any multiple green-food formula, containing more green grass juice powder per gram than any similar green-food formula.

The only green food formula produced by the actual organic grower and processor of many of the ingredients used. Kamut, alfalfa and barley are planted on 2800 acres of virgin organic farmland on an ancient volcanic lake bed over 5000 feet high in the mountains of south-eastern Utah. The higher altitude of the farmland and the mineral rich top soil contributes to a significantly higher chlorophyll, vitamin, mineral and protein content. Annual crop rotations and the fact that the crops are mineralized by the seasonal run-off from the surrounding hills assure maximum nutrition in each harvest. The leaves of the young grasses are harvested at the pre-jointing stage, when their nutrient density is at its peak, then rinsed, juiced and dried on site at only 88F, to yield a product that retains the live qualities of the vitamins, minerals and enzymes. This assures the finest product possible with enhanced flavour, solubility and texture.

GREENS Original uses Green Kamut® juice powder. Compared to wheat grass, which is used in many other green-food formulas, Green Kamut® is 25% richer in protein, 10% higher in beta carotene, 90% higher in potassium, 148% higher in calcium, 50% higher in iron and possesses 49% higher antioxidant activity. Kamut is also far less allergenic than wheat or wheat grass and is usually tolerated by those with wheat allergies.

GREENS Original uses the far more costly and beneficial grass juice powders rather than just the powdered plant. Grass juice powders from the tender green leaves of Kamut, alfalfa and barley are substantially more nutrient dense than just the dried plant, which still contains most of the inert fibre. Also, the process employed yields an enzymatically active, raw/live product.

As with all of our products, GREENS Original is one of the very few green-food formulas packaged in appropriate containers to prevent degradation from oxygen, moisture, and cross-contamination (glass and PETE plastic are the only containers suitable to store live foods with enzyme activity). Most green-food formulas are packaged in HDPE containers that do not protect the enzymes and phytonutrients from degradation. Foods packaged in HDPE can loose flavour and nutritional potency due to cross-contamination from the plastic container as well as oxidation and moisture damage.

GREENS Original features The Friendly Trio®, a heat-stable probiotic that requires no refrigeration. Most other green formulas use common dairy or soil based probiotics, which lose their viability if not kept under refrigeration. The Friendly Trio® is derived from a human strain that has been shown to resist stomach acid when consumed with food and is more adapted to the environment of the human intestinal tract, increasing their likelihood to survive and colonize the human intestinal tract.

This formula does not include standardized herbal extracts. Most green-food formulas add standardized herbal extracts, often in insignificant amounts, to give the consumer the impression that the formula is “better”. Botanical extracts are not foods but are medicines for specific health conditions. Herbal medicines should only be used for a limited period of time to help correct a health condition; they are not recommended for long term use such as in a green-food formula. There is also concern about giving standardized herbal extracts to seniors, young children, or pregnant and nursing mothers, as their effect, even in the small dosages found in most other green-food formulas, could interfere with their hormonal balance. Directions

Blend or shake 2 rounded teaspoons (10 g) of Enerex GREENS with 250 ml of liquid or add to smoothie and drink immediately. Best if taken first thing in the morning. Store in a cool, dry place. Keep out of reach of children.

Notes

Enerex products are housed in recyclable BPA-free PETE plastic containers to provide the best protection against oxidation, moisture, sunlight, and chemical migration from container to product. In all of these areas, PETE is virtually equal to that of glass but without the larger environmental footprint left by glass packaging. PETE plastic is far superior to that of HDPE plastic in all regards; HDPE plastic is used for the majority of products on the market. Unlike more costly PETE bottles, HDPE plastic facilitates the immediate degradation of the product inside as it is not a barrier to oxygen or moisture; studies also show high concentrations of chemical migration from HDPE bottles to product relative to that of PETE and glass bottles.
