The Legal, Non-Prescription Alternative
Cannanda is proud and excited to present one of our greatest innovations: our CB2™ blend is a legal, non-prescription alternative to cannabidiol (CBD) or used to enhance your CBD experience. CBD is the popular cannabis compound that has significant health benefits, but lacks the psychoactive effects of its sister compound, THC. This means you get a number of incredible health benefits without feeling "high," and it delivers these benefits by positively influencing the endocannabinoid system (ECS; the body's master regulator of homeostasis).
Unfortunately, in Canada, CBD continues to be legally available by prescription only, or not-so-legally through cannabis dispensaries. After legalization later in 2018, CBD will continue to be available only through controlled distribution from licensed outlets only.
In order to bring these health benefits to a growing number of individuals through open distribution, Cannanda's research and development has created a proprietary CB2™ terpene blend, which harnesses the power of terpenes in a very specific blend that promotes the health of the ECS. This unique blend achieves its health-giving benefits through the activation of one of the main receptors of the ECS, a receptor called the cannabinoid receptor type 2 (CB2).
However, if you're already CBD user, the benefits could be even greater! There is a perfect complimentary synergy between Cannanda's CB2 and CBD products (read more below).
Cannanda research and development wanted to bring the great health benefits through open distribution. They created a proprietary CB2 hemp seed Oil terpene blend, this harnesses terpenes in a specific way that promotes the health of the endocannabinoid system. This blend achieves its health-giving effect by activated of the main receptors of the endocannabinoid. This receptor is called cannabinoid receptor type 2, hence the name of CB2.
If you are already a CBD user, CB2 might be the perfect addition for you. CBD has a weak ability to bind to CB2 receptors. Also, newer studies show that CBD may be an allosteric modifier (changing the shape of the receptors letting them function better) and an inhibitor of the enzymes that breakdown active CB2 receptors, which could be how we get the health benefits from CBD. But, if you can supply the body with external compounds that will activate CB2 receptors, like the ones found in the Cannanda blends, we can amplify those health benefits.
Activating the CB2 Receptor
CB2 is one of the two main receptors of the ECS. There are numerous benefits to activating this receptor without activating the CB1 receptor (the receptor THC activates, and is responsible for the "high" associated with cannabis). The following is a small list of studies illustrating the benefits of CB2 activation.
