Cleansing with food to Kick Start a healthy SPRING!

Spring is one of my favorite times of the year. It’s a time filled with optimism, growth and new life. Seeds begin to sprout, trees awake from the winter slumber and birds arrive back to enjoy the fresh nutritious plants that will nourish their young as they grow. It is truly a time of cleansing. If we learn to take advantage of the seasonal shifts – I believe we can benefit in ways that improve our overall health and re-energize our vitality. The word "Equinox" is from the Latin, meaning "equal night". And there are only two days each year when the hours of daylight are the same as the hours of night--the "Vernal" (or Spring) Equinox and the "Autumnal" (or Fall) Equinox. These are the two best times of the year to cleanse your body by shifting dietary habits and adding a few good habits.

This is also a good time to reflect upon any new years resolutions and to re-commit to making those positive changes in your life that you considered important when this year began.Think Green! The hills are coming alive and ideally, so should your food.
